Modern slavery is a serious crime that exists in every country, including Ireland. It encompasses human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, and domestic servitude. This CPD-accredited course raises awareness of the signs of modern slavery and provides practical guidance on how to identify and report suspected cases.

The course covers the legal framework under the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Acts 2008 and 2013, the responsibilities of organisations to prevent modern slavery in their supply chains, and how to support victims appropriately.

About This Course

Modern slavery is often hidden in plain sight. Victims may be found in a wide range of industries including agriculture, construction, hospitality, domestic work, and car washes. They are often vulnerable individuals who have been deceived, coerced, or exploited by criminal networks.

This course teaches learners to recognise the indicators of modern slavery, understand the different forms it can take, and know how to report concerns to An Garda Síochána or the National Referral Mechanism. It also covers the due diligence obligations that organisations should implement to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.
