Course Overview
This course is a useful awareness raising course for all employees, regardless of their sector but is also a good foundation course for healthcare workers who may be providing support to people who have epilepsy. The training will provide an understanding of what epilepsy is, the different types and how it affects people in different ways. It will explore the potential causes of epilepsy including potential triggers and how to reduce the likelihood of causing a trigger e.g. lighting, stress etc. There will also be an exploration of how individuals may have different reactions depending on their underlying conditions. Attendees will be provided with practical hints and tips on how to recognise a seizure and what to do to help the individual and those who may be present in the surrounding area. An overview of different treatment options which may be offered will be included. Stay up to date with fire safety insights, training updates, and compliance guidance.
