Our display screen equipment courses are aimed at users of display screen equipment (DSE or VDU) and those responsible for assessing display screen equipment. So what do we mean by display screen equipment?
The first thing most people think of is a computer monitor. But that’s not the only thing it refers to. Display screen equipment could also mean laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, CNC control pads, portable diagnostic screens or equipment containing cathode ray tubes, or CRTs.
This Display Screen Equipment (DSE) training course raises awareness of the dangers that working long hours with DSE can present and some simple steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of injury or ill-health.
The Health & Safety Authority (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations contain special directives covering DSE safety. Both employers and employee-users have responsibilities under the legislation. This is outlined in the Safety Health and Welfare (General Application) Regulations: Chapter 5 of Part 2.
The course covers what Display Screen Equipment is, key legislation, key responsibilities, the potential harmful effects from prolonged DSE use, risk assessment, setting up a workstation correctly and maintaining wellbeing.
This course fulfils your statutory training obligations and covers, among other things, the correct way to set up and use your display screen equipment safely, and reduce the risk of work-related conditions.
