Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone involved in childcare who has a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This includes childcare workers, teachers, camp counsellors, and more.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is specifically designed for staff or individuals with an interest in working with or caring for children or those under the age of 14 years. This course is ideal for:

• Staff in crèches, day care centres, and early years settings who have a duty of care for children.
• Teachers in Montessori schools, pre-schools, national schools, and secondary schools.
• Parents, grandparents, and babysitters who want to be prepared for emergencies involving children.
• Youth leaders, summer camp staff, and anyone running activities for children.
• Coaches and trainers working with children’s sports teams and youth activities.
• Volunteers in youth clubs, scouting organisations, and community groups working with children.

• To attend this course, learners must meet the following requirements:
• If you have any injuries or medical issues, please discuss them with the course coordinator before attending, as you will be required to complete all practical elements to receive your certificate.
• Upon successful completion, you receive an American Heart Association certification. This certification is internationally recognised and delivered through an Irish Heart Foundation affiliated training site.
• You should complete a refresher course before your certificate expires to maintain your current certification.
• All our tutors hold a minimum QQI Level 8 in their subject matter, a Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 or higher, and are experienced paediatric first aid instructors. We train with the ZOLL AED 3 trainer to provide realistic AED training.
