The First Aid & Heartsaver AED Course is a comprehensive one-day programme designed to give learners the knowledge and skills to apply first aid in workplace emergencies. This course combines essential first aid training with the Heartsaver AED Course, covering both medical emergencies and cardiac arrest response.
Phoenix STS is an Irish Heart Foundation affiliated training site. We train with the ZOLL AED 3 trainer to give you a real-life AED training experience. The course uses the American Heart Association’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching technique.

Pre-Course Requirements
Before Attending
To attend this course, learners must meet the following requirements:
- English language proficiency: Fluency in English is required (training is delivered in English)
- Physical capability: Learners should be physically fit enough to carry out chest compressions on a manikin while kneeling
- Medical conditions: Please inform us of any specific learner requirements or medical conditions before attending
- Practical assessment: You will be required to complete all practical elements to receive your certificate

Your Certification
Upon successful completion, you receive an American Heart Association certificate. This certification is internationally recognised and delivered through an Irish Heart Foundation affiliated training site.
You should complete a refresher course before your certificate expires to maintain your current certification. Many employers require staff to hold valid first aid qualifications.

All our tutors hold a Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 or higher and are experienced first aid, CPR, and AED instructors. We train with the ZOLL AED 3 trainer to provide realistic AED training.
