Frequently Asked Questions

What are Blended Training Courses?

Blended Training Courses combine online theory modules with practical, hands-on skills sessions. Learners complete the knowledge-based content at their own pace using our online learning platform, then attend a shorter on-site practical session to demonstrate competency. This approach reduces time away from work while ensuring staff gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

How do Blended Training Courses work?

The process is straightforward. Step 1: Learners receive login details for the online learning platform and complete theory modules at their own pace. Step 2: Once online modules are complete, learners attend a practical skills session delivered on-site at your premises by our expert instructors. Step 3: Upon successful completion of both components, learners receive their certificate.

How long do I have to complete the online modules?

Learners typically have 30 days to complete online modules before attending the practical session. However, most modules take between 45 minutes and 2 hours to complete, so learners can finish them in a single sitting if preferred. We can arrange extended access periods for larger organisations scheduling multiple practical sessions.

Do I need to complete the online portion before attending the practical session?

Yes. The online theory modules must be completed before attending the practical skills session. This ensures all learners arrive with the same baseline knowledge, allowing instructors to focus practical time on hands-on skills demonstration and assessment rather than classroom-based theory.

What equipment do I need for online learning?

Learners need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access. Our online platform works on all modern browsers without additional software. A quiet space to concentrate and headphones for audio content are recommended, but not essential.

Is blended training CPD certified?

Yes. Our Blended Training Courses are CPD certified by the CPD Standards Office. Learners receive the same recognised certification as those completing fully on-site courses. Certificates are valid for the same duration as standard course certificates, typically 2 to 3 years, depending on the course.

Which courses are available as Blended Training Courses?

We offer blended delivery for Manual Handling, People Moving and Handling, HeartSaver AED, BLS (Basic Life Support), and several health and safety programmes. Contact us to discuss blended options for other courses. Some courses require full practical delivery due to their hands-on nature.

Is blended training suitable for healthcare staff?

Yes. Blended Training Courses are ideal for nursing homes and healthcare facilities where staffing constraints make it difficult to schedule full-day training sessions. Staff complete theory modules around their shifts, then attend shorter practical sessions. Our healthcare blended training meets the requirements of HIQA Regulation 28.

Can my whole team complete the online modules together?

Each learner requires their own login and must complete modules individually to ensure personal understanding and to support certification. However, teams can coordinate to complete online modules during the same week, then attend the practical session together.

How long is the practical skills session?

Practical session duration varies by course. Manual Handling practical sessions are typically 2 hours. HeartSaver AED and BLS practical sessions are approximately 2 hours. Fire Safety Awareness practical sessions, including extinguisher training, are typically 1 hour. Contact us for specific duration information.
