Current legislation applies to all workplaces regardless of the number of employees and requires employers to provide adequate training in fire awareness for all members of staff. Our online fire safety training courses are aimed at all employees in a nursing home to assist them in identifying and reducing the risk that fire poses in the centre.
This Basic Fire Safety Nursing Home Course teaches nurses and care home workers how to maintain fire safety standards and offer help and support to vulnerable residents to evacuate safely. It also helps the nursing home to comply with fire safety law and keep all your residents safe from harm.
Those in residential care may not always be able to evacuate the building on their own, particularly those with mobility challenges or conditions that affect their understanding of their situation and surroundings. Our course teaches delegates what fire safety arrangements should be in place in a nursing home, to prevent fires from starting and to enable safe evacuation. These procedures ensure both residents and staff can evacuate with assistance, or on their own, safely.
This course covers the same content as the Basic Fire Safety Awareness course with additional content tailored specially for employees that work in nursing homes.
Important Note: The Basic Fire Safety Nursing Home course is not intended as a substitute for face-to-face training and may only form part of a blended training program. The program is ideal for supporting a Fire Safety Manager to deliver induction training to new staff before they receive face-to-face instruction from a competent person.
