1 in 4 people in both Ireland and the UK will experience a mental health problem at some point, including in the workplace. Many employers and managers do not understand enough about this topic to be able to help, which can result in the situation becoming even worse.
This Mental Health Awareness Course is designed as an introduction to mental health to raise awareness of how important it is to both individuals and the organisations they work for. The course provides an overview of mental health problems, outlining some of the symptoms and effects, and explains what you can do to help colleagues feel supported and encouraged.
This Mental Health Awareness Course will help delegated recognise the common mental health issues that can affect people and will help you decide on the appropriate action to take.
The course covers the common types of mental health problems including anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), panic attacks, depression, phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), eating disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, loneliness and stress.
It also covers how you can look after your own mental health and support others with their mental health issues.
