This course is designed for both managers and employees and aims to provide some helpful hints and tips on how to spot individuals who may potentially be misusing illegal or prescription medication or alcohol. Attendees will be equipped with a range of guidance and approaches to take depending on the individual and the issues. The course will be useful in a work capacity but may also be helpful to people in a personal capacity. The trainer will discuss the different types of drug and alcohol dependencies that can arise and the difficulties users may be experiencing. The course will explore options for reaching out to offer help to the individual affected and what to do if the misuse is leading to a more serious situation, for example causing safety concerns for the individual, their colleagues or the public or that the misuse is actually a criminal issue which needs to be reported. Attendees will explore the different options and how they can reach out to help support the individual affected.
