This course is designed for HR managers/team members and managers within organisations that devolve HR responsibilities to their management team. The course will provide attendees with an overview of the different formal procedures which can be invoked if an employer needs to deal with an employee via a formal disciplinary procedure. The course will explore the reasons why a disciplinary approach may be needed and how to use performance management to prevent a situation from escalating to this level. An overview of the menu of options will be provided and then explored in detail to provide a suite of alternatives from the informal to the formal. Throughout the course, the trainer will highlight the importance of following internally agreed procedures which align to the local employment law to ensure that you can defend your actions in a court or tribunal if the individual is unhappy with the approach which has been taken.
